It's 11:30 PM Monday night and I just got home from Virginia. It feels so good to be here - extra good because Omar got to come home this week too. I am ready for a great relaxing week with my girls and my man. I also am looking forward to our early Thanksgiving on Sunday.
On my flight home, I was thinking about all of the beautiful places I have been this year. I have been to Montana, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, Pennsylvania and many more. I haven't been able to enjoy any of these places. All I do when I am out of town is work. There must be a way that I can experience all of these beautiful states and cities! So, I have came up with what I think is a great idea.....
Starting next week we are all gonna play a little game together. For my post, I will be giving you clues as to where I am. These clues could be facts, historical info, pictures, etc. This will help me learn a little more about where I am and hopefully help me better enjoy my travels. I am hoping this will be a fun game for all of you too. Not even my sisters get to know where I am heading off to. You must guess also!!
Any feedback? Also, where have you been that you weren't able to enjoy?

I love games. This sounds like fun.
As for not being able to enjoy the places you are visiting, try taking at least 1 hour to explore. You might discover something exciting.
Can't wait 'till the games begin!
BJ,
You are right. Even 1 hour would be a great help. I love games too. We should all have a good time.
Sounds like fun. Count me in! I love to win though, so watch out everyone. I may step on you as I climb to the top of this ladder. You've been fairly warned!
I used to travel all the time (for work) and I regret that I didn't appreciate it more and get out and see the sites.

I also used to travel all the time for work, and I too neglected to see a lot of this country when I had the opportunity. I visited some cities pretty regularly and always thought I'd see things "the next time". But, I did experience quite a bit and I feel blessed to have done so.
I am the ultimate game player...I play to win! So watch out. I'm aggressive (think Grace on Will and Grace) and I don't care who I have to trample to win! Of course it's all in fun...

What a fun idea!
As for trips where I didn't enjoy myself, when I was a kid I got a summer cold and didn't have much fun on our trip to Florida. And as an adult, I didn't enjoy a trip to Washington DC because I caught a cold after being out in the rain at Williamsburg. I'm still annoyed about that trip to DC. :)
It will be quite interesting to see you all battle it out!! Now I have to figure out a way to really challenge you all! Let the games begin!
Tori, It sounds like you need to schedule another trip to DC. I have never been there, but I am sure it would be quite interesting.
Brandy, I love the idea of your game. I'm not as competative as some of the other sisters (BARB and BRENDA!) but I'd love to play.
Like BARB and BRENDA, I, too, traveled far and wide in my previous life as a lounge lizard. When there was something special to see, like a national park or cool museum, I was pretty good about seeking those out. That's how I saw the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Niagra Falls, Macinaw Island... and similar cool places. Like BJ suggested, even if you only dedicate one hour to exploring, that's an hour well spent. An hour of special memories.
In answer to your question... every time I attend a writers conference, no matter how cool the city, I typically spend the entire week in the conference hotel. You've inspired me to amend that. :)
