Congrats to Tori, Alyson, Edie and Sandy.

My quote for the day:

"I think that one role of the poet is to present the reader/listener with his or her view of what the world could be, in contrast with how it is."
Christopher Luna

I think this could apply to all writers.

Whoohoo! Two of the Rakehell books! Doing a happy dance! Thank you so much, Julia and the sisters at SIS! And congrats also to Edie, Tory, and Sandy :)

Beth, I have two quotes. My favorite is: "Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper..." *or computer, in my case* "...until drops of blood form on your forehead."
- Anonymous

And here's the other, which Elle will probably shake her head at, because it confirms her nickname for me - Hermit: "Writing is a solitary occupation. Family, friends, and society are the natural enemies of the writer. He must be alone, uninterrupted, and slightly savage if he is to sustain and complete an undertaking."
-Jessamyn West

Yep, that's me, savage. Yeah right. Seriously, my family and friends aren't my enemies AT ALL, and I'm actually very family-oriented. But I DO have to shut my door to the outside world while I'm writing.

Congrats Tori, Alyson, Edie and Sandy! I have a couple of qoutes as well:

"Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own."
-Carol Burnett

"Beneath the rule of men entirely great,
The pen is mightier than the sword."
-Edward Bulwer-Lytton

"You must keep sending work out; you must never let a manuscript do nothing but eat its head off in a drawer. You send that work out again and again, while you're working on another one. If you have talent, you will receive some measure of success - but only if you persist."

-Isaac Asimov
