As you can tell by my book recommendation I like Celtic mythology. When searching for a new C.D. recently I found one that was inspired by the Celtic goddesses of ancient myth.

Legends of the Goddess by Laura Powers is magical and enchanting. Laura has a beautiful voice that moves you. My favorites on the album are Morrighan's Quest and My Avalon.

My pick of the week: Legends of the Goddess
Artist: Laura Powers

I'm a rocker at heart. There's just something about the driving guitars and the strong, powerful vocals that I can't resist. Looking through my CD collection in my car, I came across a Best Hits CD that I hadn't listened to in a while. I popped it in and was instantly swept back in time to high school. Great memories!

My Pick of the Week: Pat Benatar

Favorite Songs: Love is a Battlefield, Hell is for Children, Fire and Ice

Hi, Brenda,

I love Pat Benatar. Several years ago, I had the pleasure or seeing her and Styx in concert. It was a great show.

Hi B.J.,

I would have loved to have seen that! I love Styx also. I used to drive around the back roads by the reservoir listening to "Paradise Theater" from Styx!

So I guess Brenda didn't like my music pick! She's trying to say she didn't get it.
Anyway, my pick is Robin Thicke. He is a very talented artist. His voice is beautiful - very smooth. He has an amazing falsetto that could (dare I say it?) give Prince a run for his money. I enjoy him most when he performs one of his many seductive love songs at the piano.

Albums : Evolution of Robin Thicke & Something Else
Favorite Songs : Lost without you, I need Love, Magic, & The Sweetest Love

Brenda,

I really like Pat Benatar also. I can remember you listening to her when I was very young. My favorite is Love is a Battlefield.

B.J.,

I never listen to any Celtic music. I know Beth love it also. Maybe I should give it a try,

Hi Brandy, I have never heard of Robin Thicke. I will look him up so I can hear his beautiful voice.

Brandy,

You're right. I do love Celtic music. So my ears/eyes perked right up when I saw BJ's music pick. A new-to-me Celtic artist. Yay! Thanks BJ!

As to your pick, I confess I don't know Robin Thicke. Gives Prince a run for his money? Really? Okay. Now I have to check him out.

Brenda,

I love... I ADORE Pat Benatar. I wanted to BE her when she first hit it big in 1979. I could only hope to channel her energy as I would never possess her range.

Benatar's a unique dynamo with an amazing voice. An operetic voice that translates well to rock. Go figure. Over 25 years later I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing her live. Along with her monster guitarist husband, she rocked the house as fiercely as she'd always done. Naturally, I cried. What an experience.
