We have talked about Guardian Angels on here before. I believe we all have one in some form or another. In fact, we probably have more than one.
One of my Guardian Spirits is a Dragon. You see, I have a great fear of driving. Years ago I was shopping in an Oriental themed store and I was looking at some dragon charms made of Jade. The sales lady told me they were for safe travel and they were to be hung on the rearview mirror of your car. Of course I had to snatch it up.
My Dragon friend has been hanging in every car I have driven since the day I found him. When I am driving and start to feel nervous, I reach over and rub the charm and ask my Dragon friend to protect me. The Dragon on the charm is an Eastern Dragon (think Oriental), but when I ask for his protection he appears to me as a Western Dragon (think King Arthur type dragon),flying right above my car ready to grab hold with his talons if needed. He is a beautiful Dragon. Black with jewel like cobolt blue scales scattered about his body. I relax every time I imagine him.
My Dragon friend visits during bad storms as well. He sits atop my house ready to protect it and its inhabitants from strong winds and falling trees. He is a great friend to have around and I always thank him for his presence.
Is my Dragon friend real? I don't know, but the thought of a Dragon being there to protect me and those I love brings me great comfort.
What about you? Do you have Guardian Spirits that are different from you Guardian Angel? If so, what do they look like?

Interesting. I never thought of having a Guardian Dragon but it does bring an image of a fierce protector.
I'm not sure who might look out for me. I hope someone is!
I have a little stuffed dragon named Freddie. He's purple. *g* I'm not sure he qualifies as a Guardian Dragon, though. He fits in the palm of my hand. :)
But I love the concept of a Guardian Dragon!
Hi B.J.,
I love your description of your dragon. He sounds fierce.
I've not conjured up a guardian beast for myself, but I think I'll have to give it a whirl. When I'm scared, I'm not quite sure what I think of. I think I think of myself, but as a very strong person. I tell myself that I will be okay and that I can get through anything.
Next time I fly though, I'll be thinking of a dragon of my own. That way, if the plane decides to suddenly fall from the sky, he can grab hold with his strong talons and fly me slowly to safety.

Hi Mary, Yes, Dragons are fierce protectors.
I'm sure someone is looking out for you.
Hi Tori, I have a small stuffed purple dragon as well. My youngest gave it to me because she knows I love Dragons.
Hi Bren, I think if you conjured up a dragon when you fly might help. I know how much you hate to fly.
Hi BJ,
Loved your description of your Guardian Dragon. I have a few icons for inspiration--on my desk, all huddled together.
*A black Egyptian cat (mini statue) that I bought at the British Museum in London. Cats were sacred to Bastet, a sun goddess who represents the warm, life giving power of the sun. She was known as the goddess of joy and protector of women.
*Owl of Minerva (another mini statue) that I bought in Bath, England. Minerva was the Roman goddess of wisdom and of war. The owl was the symbol of her wisdom.
*A mini bust of ELVIS. A gift from Steve. Elvis is my all-time favorite performer. If only an iota of his charisma rubbed off on me, I'd be thrilled!
*A bobble-figurine of Muttley the dog. Just because he makes me smile.
*A mini-statue of Westminster Abby. I bought it in London at the actual Abby, my favorite place in all London. I can feel the history (and a few ghosts, too)
*A snow globe from Polar Express that says 'Believe'
Hey... whatever works for us, right? :-)
