Happy Fourth of July!

Saturday, July 4, 2009
This holiday weekend, we're spending time with family and friends, doing Independence Day stuff (You know--cook-outs, parades, fireworks. Or in Beth's case, playing with her dogs in between marathon writing.) instead of hanging at Cafe Chaos and chatting movies. What about you? What are you up to this weekend?

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th, everyone! Thank God for freedom! We're not doing a whole lot this weekend, and that's a lovely thing!

Yes Fedora, a weekend that does not include running around everywhere is a good weekend indeed!

Hi, Fedora! Happy 4th to you as well. I'm not doing anything special either. Although I may break away from my writing tonight in hopes of seeing some fireworks. Since they're sponsored by a near by casino, I should be able to see them from my front yard. If I'm lucky. ;)

Happy 4th of July to everyone. It's been raining all day here in Indiana. Hopefully it stops in time for the fireworks.

BJ!

I have great memories of fireworks in Indiana! Hopefully the rain will stop so you can enjoy the day!

Hey, BJ and Barb,

I have fond memories of fireworks in Indiana, too. Do they still take place at the baseball field in the park?

Beth, the fireworks still take place in the park. We even have soap box derbys on the 4th but I'm always working when they race.

As our country, a cultural mix --- 4th Of July Haiku;):

Look! Rockets red glare
Landing in open waters
Love the smell of that.

I think I love you
and your red and white and blue
Independence day!

The Fourth of July,
Hot dogs and cheap beer for all,
Our ancestors proud (OK, it's me --- had to throw in a cynical one;)!)

Flags wave, freely flow,
Fire-flowers, booms, rumbles,
Blessed freedom's night.
(all above garnered from the Internet)
Mine:

All the sacrifice,
Made long ago, and today
Give us peace at home

USA! USA! USA!:)
