They're cozy. They're soft and warm, funky looking and amazingly comfortable. They look great with jeans and just as great with a tunic dress. I can wear them folded down to my ankles or strectched high to my knees. Although there are several brands, I paid a little more for a quality brand that would last long and offered cushy insoles. I love them and wear them a lot!

My Fashion Trend Pick: Bearpaw Sweater Boots

SIS BJ says:
Set in the time of King Arthur Pendragon the movie Mists of Avalon, based on the novel of the same name by Marion Zimmer Bradley, takes you on a visionary journey during a time of shifting beliefs. Viviane, played by Angelica Huston and Morgaine(aka Morgan le Fay), played by Julianna Marguilies try everything in their power to keep the belief of the goddess alive. Love and betrayal throughtout the movie hamper their efforts to succeed in their battle.
I like this movie because it is told from a womans point of view. It is set in a time that I dearly love. A time full of magic and romance.
My Movie Pick of the Week: Mists of Avalon

SIS Barb says:

Last night we took the kids bowling along with another family. The theme was glow in the dark and the music was a wide range of artists, from Prince to the Black Eyed Peas to Miley Cyrus to Jodee Messina. It was a blast and while none of us are very good bowlers we still made it a fun competition. I'm not sure how long bowling has been around but what a fun way to spend an evening. Thankfully this was a non-smoking venue which is the only way to go, in my opinion.

So grab your family or a friend or two and head out for 10 frames of fun.

Good morning and happy Saturday!

Beth,

Love the boots. I have a similar pair in charcoal but I went the cheap route and I can tell they won't last past this season. Sometimes you truly get what you pay for.

BJ,

I thought I'd seen this movie but now I don't think so. I'm gonna head to blockbuster today and see if they have it. I'd love to watch it tonight.

BJ, I saw 'The Mists of Avalon.' I loved it (and the costumes!). Then again I adore just about any movie that has to do with the King Arthur Legend. What am I saying, I adore just about any movie set in medieval times... or any historical period for that matter. ;)

Barb/Elle, I haven't bowled in ages, but I have fond memories. I stink at it, but I always have a great time. It's a fantastic way to spend time with friends and family. Excellent rec!

As for the boots, I would probably go the cheaper route just to have another pair in a different color, but I'm really glad I went the Bearpaws route for my basic black pair. Actually, I did't phrase my post quite right. I didn't actually PAY for mine, I put them on my Amazon wish list and got them as a Christmas gift. I felt a little guilty about how much they cost, but they sure as heck weren't as expensive as Uggs!

Beth, those boots are so cool!!!

BJ, I've seen that! As I recall I loved it. :)

Barb, I was curious, so I googled bowling and found this on Wikipeida: "Primitive forms of bowling may have existed in ancient times as early as A.D. 300 in Germany". So there you are!
