Hi my name is Brandy, and I am an addict...

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

They say that the first step to curing a problem is admitting that you have one, right? So here goes... I must confess I have a major addiction that I can control. Reading!

I think the next step (at least my next step) is to point a finger at who the major contributors are to that said problem. I have one word for all of you - BARB!!! She sent me The Black Dagger Brotherhood series and since then I have been totally lost in the stories. I have been neglecting loved ones, not doing my hair, and barely sleeping. It's all her fault. Ok fine, I place some of the blame on the author J.R. Ward. These books are great!!

Maybe I'll have to stop reading again! I made it just fine avoiding books in the past, and now I remember why I quit reading. I have way too many obsessive tendencies. Shoot, I've broke my phone twice because I get obsessed with the bubble breaker game that's on it. And if I find a particular food I like, I could eat it every day if I was allowed. Good thing I've never tried any hard drugs - I'd probably be in real big trouble!!!

Do you have any addictions? And by the way, coffee doesn't count. We covered that problem yesterday.

Brandy,

Told ya! Aren't they great? Which story are you on? Can you believe she died? Hurry up so we can talk about this!!

When you're done with this series (so far--there are more to come), I've got other series would you love. Am I feeding your addiction? (Cue evil laughter)

Seriously though, The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is one of my all time faves. I strive to write half as well as JR Ward. She has also started a new series and I think only book 1 is out. I've read it and can't wait for the next installment.

I haven't answered your question. Addictions? Well since you nixed coffee, I'll have to say books. I rarely buy clothes but you can always find me in a bookstore or coffee shop! Sorry, still had to add the bit about coffee.

Hi Brandy

Like you, when I read I have been know to ignore my family. They can talk to me and I won't even hear them.

I'm addicted to Coke with extra ice and Bloody Marys.

Barb,

I am on the 4th book. Finished the first three in not quite 4 days. And who are you speaking of dying? One female has so far, but you better not be letting me in on future events!!!

BJ,

Ditto on the Bloody Marys! But don't tell mom... she thinks I have a problem :)

Brandy,

Yes. That female. Can you believe that? So sad. Have you met Rev yet? I have his book here. I think it's the most current one. It's hardback so I'll bring it next time I visit you.

Oh, books, hands down. There's a reason I'm constantly running out of room for mine (even after weeding out books to donate to the library I still have over 1400).

Also Diet Coke, Crunchy Cheetos, peach-flavored water from Walmart, Hershey Chocolate Bars.

Brandy, I can't say that being addicted to great stories is a bad thing. Although when it comes to neglecting your HAIR... well as long as you remember to put on deoderant. Otherwise we may have to intervene.

Barb, I say we get her hooked on the Dream Fever series next. Yessss!

As for me, sad to say I think I'm addicted to the Internet.. or at least my laptop. And maybe Lipton Cup-a-soup and Progresso Soup. And George Clooney. :)

Beth,

Great idea.

Brandy,

I'll send you my Fever series but you have to promise to give them back. They are my prized possessions!

That's easy -- See's Bordeaux chocolates.

I can be bribed very easily when they're involved.

Hi Brandy,

I am exactly like you when it comes to reading. I get so wrapped up that I could read non-stop for the entire day, not even taking time to eat. It is very annoying to everyone around me and probably the reason that I haven't read a book in months. I miss it greatly and hope to get back to reading very soon.

My addiction? Sugar-free Tropical flavored Popsicles. I love them and am very unhappy when there aren't any in the freezer.
