Encouragement

Wednesday, September 15, 2010
It seems that many people around me are experiencing difficulty in one way or another in their lives.  I sometimes wonder if it has something to do with the alignment of the planets, or some unseen or unknown force.  I think I remember hearing once that your life goes through phases.  Something like life is great for a number of years and then negative forces move in and you struggle for a few years.  If I had more time this morning, I would do some research.

But instead, I just wanted to share some positive quotes and offer encouragement to those out there that need it...including myself.

When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.  ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning. ~Ivy Baker Priest

It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves. ~Edmund Hillary

Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are. ~Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha

It's not easy taking my problems one at a time when they refuse to get in line. ~Ashleigh Brilliant

The soul would have no rainbow had the eyes no tears. ~John Vance Cheney

Count the garden by the flowers, never by the leaves that fall. Count your life with smiles and not the tears that roll. ~Author Unknown

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
~Dr. Seuss

Here's to brighter days for all!  Have an incredible Wednesday!

I agree, there are seasons of good and bad. I've learned a few things along the way:

1. not to let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

2. no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, my life DOES go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

3. And most important, not to judge life by one difficult or heartbreaking season.

Something my brother used to quote: "Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift." He had the right idea. :-)

Hi Bren

I love the Dr. Seuss quote. I think I will buy me a bat.

BJ,

I loved that quote as well. It made me smile. I think from now on, when I am facing a problem, I'll envision myself with a bat in my hands.

In the words of our brother... "Gotta keep movin'."

A straight-ahead, effective concept. I, too, think the best remedy for hard times is to keep moving. Never give up, give in, or dwell. Keep moving forward, looking for solutions, trying new things. When you least expect it, the planet's will align and 'poof' things will change for the better. :)

Bren,

Let me start by saying IT'S ALL BECAUSE WINTER IS COMING! Just kidding guys...maybe.

I like this quote the best: The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning. ~Ivy Baker Priest

During hard times, it's hard to wrap our mind around that, but I do think it's true.

Thanks for sharing! These are great!

Brandy,

You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed them. I know that these quotes don't fix everything, but at least they make you stop and think. Hopefully there's some truth to them.

Beth,
I agree. I think if you just keep plowing through, when you least expect it, things will turn around for the better.
