Her voice is one of a kind. Simply A-Maz-Zing! Her songs are magic. Her charisma is unstoppable.
My Pick of the Week: Celine Dion
She has been one of my favorites since her first album was released here in the states. I believe I was in high school at the time. I wanted to be her. I wanted that voice. It was never to be. In my opinion, no one can touch her vocally.
Recommended Album: A New Day Has Come
My Favorite Song: I Surrender

A couple weeks ago our sister, B.J., was a guest blogger here at SIS. She wrote about her first concert experience. I didn't get to comment because I was driving to Indiana that day, but it did get me thinking about my first concert and the incredible performance that I saw. The singer for this band is right up there in my top three or four favorite vocalists!
My pick of the week: Journey
I can remember driving around the back roads of our little small town and belting out right along with Steve Perry. I could sing every note of Neil Schon's guitar solos. Just great rock and roll all around! I still crank the volume on the radio every time a Journey song comes on.
Recommended Album: Escape
Favorite songs: Don't Stop Believin', Who's Cryin' Now, Open Arms

Saturday, my recommended movie was ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, a unique and powerful movie that features young, mostly obscure, talent performing creative arrangements of songs by THE BEATLES. It got me thinking about the real deal. The four insanely talented men who wowed me all through my youth and well into my adult years.
My pick of the week: The Beatles
Each and every Beatle had his own unique sound and charisma. Together they were magic. In my opinion, McCartney and Lennon were two of the best pop/rock songwriters to ever bless the airwaves. As performers, all four of these mavericks set the world on fire. I was too young to scream and faint and drool when they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show or in any live venue. But their music made an impression on me early on, and it inspires me to this day.
Recommended Album: A Hard Days Night
My Favorite Song: 3-way tie…. If I Fell, And I Love Her, Can’t Buy Me Love

Good Morning Beth!
I love the Beatles. I think the first album I owned was a Beatles album. I think they are the greatest band of all time and definitely Lennon and McCartney are two of the greatest song writers! Love, love, love their music!

I LOVED that Journey album!!!
Beth - ditto everything you've said.
Barb, although I think Celine Dion has an amazing voice, I can't get past her diva persona. Such a turn off.
Brenda, funny you should applaud my rec, because I was squealing over yours. I love, love, LOVE Journey! I always thought Steve Perry had the voice of an angel. And ESCAPE is one of my all time fave albums. I'm so envious you saw them live!
*waving* to Jen and Olga!

Beth,
Really? I don't get Diva from her at all. Give me a for instance. I'm gonna try to defend her a little.

Barb,
I love Celine Dion. She does have an amazing voice. You know what I can't get past? That horrid thing she did with her hair for her wedding! HA!
