A Recommendation

The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood is truly a magical story. An easy read, I read it in two hours and will read it again soon. I loved it that much.

From the back cover:
In a snug New England town, Charlie St. Cloud tends the lawns and monuments of an ancient cemetery where his younger brother, Sam, is buried. After surviving the car accident that claimed his brother's life, Charlie is graced with an extraordinary gift: He can see, talk to, and even play catch with Sam's spirit. Into this magical world comes Tess Carol, a captivating woman training for a solo sailing trip around the globe. Fate steers her boat into a treacherous storm that propels her into Charlie's life. Their beautiful and uncommon connection leads to a race against time and choice between death and life, between the past and the future, between holding on and letting go - and the discovery that miracles can happen if we simply open our hearts.

As someone who is fascinated by death, I found this novel to be a hauntingly beautiful story about the love of two brothers and a women who comes into their lives. This story will teach you to live in the now. ( WARNING: This story is a tear jerker! )

I would love to read this book and to also see the movie that goes with it. It seems like such a great story to me. I am trying to decide which I should do first.

I know I will probably cry throughout the whole thing, but oh well! We saw the full trailer for the movie a few weeks ago. It even made Omar's eyes tear up.

It sounds like a beautiful story. I'm intrigued. I'll have to work myself up into a mood where I can handle a tearjerker. :)

Emotional creature that I am, I love stories that make me cry almost as much as I love stories that makes me laugh, so I'll have to read it. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hi Brandy

I'm afraid to see the movie. Not sure if they will stay true to it or ruin. If you watch it let us know how it is. I say read it first.

BJ,

I heard a review on the radio that said they did a really nice job with the movie and this critic had read the book. I would love to do both. I love books and movies that make me cry. Just call me SPICKET!

Hi B.J.,

Hey! Where'd my comment go?

Anywho, I love tearjerkers. If Elle is SPICKET, just call me NIAGRA.

I'll have to read first, then watch.
