I cried at the end.

I thought it was a great movie and like you said earlier, it really makes you think. You never know why a person might come across as they do, and you never know how they might really feel deep down inside.

I need to put Robinhood on my list also!

SIS BrenSisters-in-Synchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05604043398648797517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650695048667568375.post-37469476256051038772010-04-21T22:35:16.397-04:002010-04-21T22:35:16.397-04:00Alyson,

I want to say it was Bruce Almighty. I'm pretty sure it was.

Not long into the movie there is a scene with Jim Carrey at Niagra Falls and he drops the F-bomb. I was mortified. Really? This is appropriate language for a 13 year old? I don't know, maybe I'm a prude.

Not that it bothers me to hear language in a film (or elsewhere for that matter), I was just surprised.

So, I agree that it seems sometimes movies are wrongly rated.

SIS BrenSisters-in-Synchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05604043398648797517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650695048667568375.post-21780251568990931802010-04-21T22:30:28.326-04:002010-04-21T22:30:28.326-04:00Hi Beth,

I guess if you have nothing better to do for 2 hours...

I can't wait to see Alice In Wonderland. The boys saw that one also and loved it. It's on my list.

I saw State of Play and enjoyed it. There's another movie with Russel Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio that I thought was really good, but I can't think of the name right now.

SIS BrenSisters-in-Synchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05604043398648797517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650695048667568375.post-68930171569407031482010-04-21T21:24:04.853-04:002010-04-21T21:24:04.853-04:00Hi Bren,

I think I mentioned it earlier this week. Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood is wonderful. I highly recommend it to the adults here at SIS. No children for this one.

I really want to see Alice in Wonderland, Sherlock Holmes and most of all, Robin Hood.

SIS Barb aka Elle J RossiElle J Rossihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242732693777191481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650695048667568375.post-65544595893107981822010-04-21T20:04:24.369-04:002010-04-21T20:04:24.369-04:00I haven't seen 2012, Brenda, but I'll cert...I haven't seen 2012, Brenda, but I'll certainly take your word for it. It doesn't appeal to me a whole lot for some reason. On the other hand, I loved Sherlock Holmes!

My daughter and I watched Alice in Wonderland with one of my best friends and her little girl. We really enjoyed it. We plan to watch Furry Vengeance soon, too.

For movies that are rated PG13 and higher, my hubby and I usually rent them to watch late at night together after sis is in bed.

This brings up a question that I've often wondered about. Is it just me, or does anyone else think that movies are wrongly rated sometimes? I've watched some rated R ones, and afterwards wondered wtf they were restricted. And I've watched others that were rated PG and thought they probably deserved to be PG13 instead.Alyson Reubenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10233804636662093697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650695048667568375.post-24867628152795417852010-04-21T19:02:33.040-04:002010-04-21T19:02:33.040-04:00Hi Bren! 2012 is on my hold list at the library. Robin Hood and Ironman 2.

Some recent movies I've viewed and enjoyed:
State of Play --great thriller with Russell Crowe.
Alice in Wonderland--Johnny Depp. Weird and wonderful
Whip It--coming of age movie featuring Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore. Fun and incredibly heartwarming.

As for Marley and Me, knowing how it ends, I can't bring myself to watch it. :(

SIS BethBeth Ciottahttp://www.bethciotta.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4650695048667568375.post-15693276423856069482010-04-21T17:30:02.595-04:002010-04-21T17:30:02.595-04:00Chris,

It's always nice to see you here!

Oh how I wish I hadn't watched 2012...but alas...

I would like to watch Sherlock Holmes again simply because sometimes I had a hard time understanding some of the dialogue. I guess it was a combination of the British accent and the speed at which they conversed. About 45 minutes in I finally got the bright idea to turn on the closed caption...I'm smart like that! But I loved the movie and can't wait to see if there are more to follow.

I don't think I've heard of Salt yet.
